The State Department on Saturday night issued a new alert urging all Americans near Kabul’s international airport to leave the area immediately — citing “a specific, credible threat.”

The warning from the US Embassy in Afghanistan — the second of its kind in about 24 hours — specified that Americans near “the South (Airport Circle) gate, the new Ministry of the Interior, and the gate near the Panjshir Petrol station on the northwest side of the airport” should immediately leave.

“U.S. citizens should avoid traveling to the airport and avoid all airport gates at this time,” the notification said.

Earlier Saturday, President Joe Biden warned that another attack in Kabul “is highly likely in the next 24-36 hours.”

A day earlier, a US drone strike killed two operatives with ISIS-K, the terrorist group that claimed responsibility for last week’s deadly suicide bombing in Kabul that killed 13 US service members and at least 169 Afghans.
