Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has been left sweating over Harry Kane’s fitness ahead of Wednesday’s crunch Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt. Kane was walking gingerly after picking up a late knock in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Brighton & Hove Albion, in which he headed the winner.
The 29-year-old striker went down following a strong kick to the calf as a result of putting his body on the line to block a shot in the final moments at the Amex Stadium. And he admitted it was a ‘sore one’ after full-time, potentially giving Conte something to think about ahead of Frankfurt’s visit to north London.
Tottenham are sat in second in Group D on four points, level with Frankfurt after their 0-0 stalemate in Germany last week. And defeat on Wednesday would put Conte’s side at serious risk of elimination at the first hurdle of their Champions League return.
There are likely to be some changes for the hosts, including a potentially forced reaction to Kane’s absence. Express Sport pinpoints four ways Conte could shuffle his pack when the Europa League champions come to town.

Emerson for Doherty
Emerson Royal was suspended for the trip to Brighton but has been Conte’s first-choice right-wing-back this season, starting all three Champions League games. He’s likely to return to the team on Wednesday, replacing Matt Doherty.
Perisic for Sessegnon
Perisic has also started all three European fixtures on the other side of the defence since joining Tottenham, but now 33, he has seen his minutes managed carefully. After only playing the final 10 minutes at Brighton, the Croat will be well rested to return to the side to face Frankfurt, with Ryan Sessegnon making way.
