‘It’s a very big one!’ This Morning’s Phillip Schofield shocks viewers as he exchanges crude wisteria joke

He and Holly Willoughby often make cheeky double entendres while co-hosting.

And on Wednesday, Phillip Schofield, 60, shocked This Morning viewers as he exchanged a crude wisteria joke with a gardening expert.

David Domoney appeared via videolink from Stratford upon Avon, speaking about wisteria – a climbing shrub, bearing pendants of scented flowers – since it appears in Bridgerton so much.

He paused and said to camera: ‘Now Holly, I’ve got a bit of a confession, I have in fact seen Phillip’s wisteria…’ to which she quipped: ‘it’s special isn’t it.’

David continued: ‘And it is a lovely specimen, healthy, masses of growth, but it’s a big wisteria isn’t it Phillip?

Nodding away in agreement, Phil replied: ‘It’s a very big one! It’s the trunk… the main trunk is about that round,’ explained the star holding his hands up to demonstrate the size.

Viewers were quick to pick-up on the interaction, taking to Twitter to voice their shock, with one person tweeting: ‘Asking Phillip what his girth is #ThisMorning,’ while others shared funny GIFs.

But it’s unlikely that Phillip will see the reaction from viewers, given that he revealed on Tuesday that he has deleted the Twitter app from his mobile phone.

He joined the social media app back in 2009 and has amassed a staggering 4.4 million followers.

But Phillip revealed that he has deleted the Twitter app from his phone, because he wants ‘no part of it’ in his life – although his account remains active.

The presenter branded the platform ‘a cesspit’ and asserted that there are ‘vile and disgusting’ trolls on it.

Discussing Elon Musk buying Twitter and the suggestion that all users may have to be verified, Phillip asserted: ‘There’s the side of the argument where, if you’re gonna say something, make sure you can back it up with your own name.

‘If that isn’t the case, then it could become even more of a cesspit than it already is.   I’ve deleted it off my phone. And I’ll quite openly say that…

‘Because, there is a section that is wonderful and magnificent and funny and informative…. And there is a section that is vile and disgusting and I want no part of it in my life.’
