Tahlia Giumelli says she didn’t even know who husband Tom Burgess was when they first met – and admits that she still doesn’t watch his football games despite being married
NRL star Tom Burgess and his brothers are arguably some of Australia’s most famous athletes.
But Tom’s new wife Tahlia Giumelli was unaware of his glittering sports career when they first met more than four years ago.
Speaking to Stellar magazine, the 29-year-old model said that she was unaware of his fame and doesn’t even watch his games now that they’re married.

‘When I first met Tom, I’d been living overseas, so I wasn’t aware,’ she admitted.
‘I met Tom for who he was and not for what he did. And if I’m honest, I still don’t know a lot about what he does,’ she continued.
‘When he’s on the field, he knows I’ve definitely got Netflix on and some Thai takeaway.’

Tahlia and Tom tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in a waterfront park in Sydney’s Watsons Bay back in January.
The sporadic rain couldn’t dampen their spirits, with the blushing bride and her smitten groom absolutely beaming throughout the ceremony.
Tahlia looked gorgeous in a slinky white wedding dress from Prea James Bridal as she walked down the aisle to Tom.

The couple announced their engagement on New Year’s Eve in 2019, after three years of dating.
They were forced to postpone their nuptials on several occasions and were forced to ditch their most recent set of wedding plans in December after Tom contracted Covid-19 during a holiday to Byron Bay.
They share two children together; daughters Sophie, two, and Elodie, one.
