Using a hair dryer is another alternative to help dry clothing. According to the expert, this is more effective on small items such as socks or underwear, and can easily help to decrease your drying load.

He added: “As a rule of thumb, keep the device at arm’s length from the item of clothing in order to prevent any heat-damage to their materials. 

“Likewise, avoid obstructing the airflow to your hairdryer, otherwise the appliance may also overheat.”
