Prince Louis has not reached one royal milestone despite younger cousin Archie doing so

Archie made his royal debut on a ten-day tour with his parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when both were senior royals. Some royal experts suspect Prince Louis may take his first official trip abroad at the end of this year to attend the Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to travel to the USA by the end of 2022 to attend the second annual Earthshot prize Award ceremony in Boston, Massachusetts.

Royal sources have suggested that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will attend with their parents as long as it does not interfere with school.

One expert told the Mirror: “The King and his family are keen to hit the ground running in these crucial first few months and years of his reign.

“He certainly wants to carry on the long-held mantra from his late mother of being seen to be believed, and is very keen to get out and meet as many people as possible.”

Prince William launched the Earthshot Prize through his charity the Royal Foundation in 2020 alongside David Attenborough.

The charity plans to name five winners of the prize every year for their contributions to environmentalism until 2030, and each candidate receives a grant of £1million.

The first awards were handed out in 2021 and in 2022 the organisation became its own independent charity.

Last year at the Earthshot ceremony, Prince William said: “London and the UK has put on quite a show for our first year. So for the second year, we need to pass the baton to a country whose leadership is essential for all five of our Earthshots.

“Where better than the nation that inspired the Moonshot all those years ago? I’m delighted to announce that the Earthshot Prize will be heading to the United States of America in 2022.”

Prince Louis has yet to be on his first royal tour, which may be the result of the 2020 pandemic making royal duties challenging.

It has meant that the youngest royal has not had a chance to show the world his cheeky behaviour and brilliant facial expressions, which amused the country during the Queen’s Jubilee earlier this year.

His brother, Prince George, was only ten months old when he travelled to both Australia and New Zealand in with his parents in 2014.

Prince Charlotte, who was born in 2015, and Prince George travelled to Canada in 2016 and also Poland plus Germany in 2017.

Prince William had his first official tour to Australia with King Charles and Princess Diana in 1983 at just ten months old, while Prince Harry was eight months when he joined his family on a trip to Italy.

Prince William’s trip to America comes at a time King Charles is yet to make his first official royal trip as monarch.

King Charles is understood to have consulted chief advisors to visit a Commonwealth country “as soon as possible” and a source has said Canada is likely to be “top of the list”.

Sources state King Charles is “acutely aware” that the accession of a new monarch to the thrones comes at a time many countries within the Commonwealth have growing republican movements.

A senior Government source said: “You only get the first overseas trip by a new monarch once and we need to make it count.

“We are going to be carefully looking at the options in close consultation with Buckingham Palace.”
