The Princess of Wales didn’t mind stepping in the grass despite wearing high heels in order to greet some of the royal fans who faced the chilly weather to catch a glimpse of her and Prince William. Kate, who donned a full-beige ensemble, was seen smiling widely and balancing herself between the grass and the cement pavement as she walked along the barriers behind which members of the public patiently waited for a chance to speak to her.
The royal seemed to be happy to chat and shake hands with locals after a visit to The Street, a community hub which hosts local organisations to support the growth and development of their services.
While at the Yorkshire community hub, Kate and Prince William also launched the funding to support young people’s mental health.
As it was announced during their engagement, the Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Waleds and Two Ridings Community Foundation convened local donors to secure £345,000 in funding.
This sum will be allocated by a panel of young people, met by Kate and William at The Street, to local mental health organisations.
