North Korea may have fired a ballistic missile on Thursday — days after it test fired two short-range missiles, a Japanese official said Wednesday.
“It may have been a ballistic missile. It has not fallen within Japanese territory and is not believed to have come down within Japan’s exclusive economic zone,” a defence ministry spokesman said.
The potential missile launch comes after North Korea was confirmed to have test fired two short-range missiles over the weekend.
Senior officials with the Biden administration downplayed the weekend launches on Tuesday, telling reporters they were on the low end of the spectrum of tests conducted by the Communist state.
The test came as North Korea has refused to engage in diplomatic relations with the Biden administration.
