The Duchess of Cambridge is well known for her love of superfoods such as avocados and green smoothies, not to mention goji berries and popcorn. However, when visiting The Old Boot Inn in Stanford Dingley, Berkshire, the Duchess likes to indulge in a classic British pudding.

Chef Rody Warot told People that the Princess of Wales had a particular fondness for a “moist and spongy” dessert.

He said: “Kate is always discreet and has always complimented the dishes with great kindness… For dessert, her favourite is sticky toffee pudding. It’s moist and spongy.”

However, the Duchess is not the only member of the Firm known for their sweet tooth as her husband Prince William has been known to indulge in everything
from chocolate to cake.

According to former royal chef Darren McGrady, he created a chocolate biscuit cake for the late Queen – who he labelled a “chocoholic”- that the Duke of Cambridge enjoyed immensely too.

In fact, the royal liked it so much that he requested it as his groom’s cake for his wedding in 2011.

Chocolatier Barry Colenso revealed that the special chocolate wedding cake was made using guidelines from Buckingham Palace, including Rich Tea Biscuits.

He said: “Although the McVitie’s Cake Company and I developed it into a wedding cake, we stuck closely to the guidelines issued from Buckingham Palace to make sure it was just right.

“It was rich, indulgent and creamy with a really snappy texture which came from the Rich Tea biscuits.”

However, his wife quickly replied: “You keep eating it!”

The late Queen also shared her grandson’s fondness for sweet things as it was previously reported that the first thing she would eat in the morning was a few biscuits.

Mr McGrady previously said that the late monarch was obsessed with chocolate

He said: “She is absolutely a chocoholic.

“Anything we put on the menu that had chocolate on, she would choose, especially chocolate perfection pie.”
