In the latest episode of her podcast, Meghan Markle recalled how she would drink coffee “all day every day” before marrying Prince Harry and moving to the UK but has only recently gotten back into the habit. The podcast Archetypes breaks down labels and stereotypes “that try to hold women back” and this week the newest instalment investigated the “angry black woman” trope that is portrayed in the media.
Meghan Markle spoke with guests Issa Rae and Ziwe who were shocked that the Duchess had gone a long time without drinking coffee.
Ms Rae, an American actress said “What? Were you on tea?”
The Duchess replied: “No. I didn’t even think about it. When I was on set, of course! I had Nespresso all day every day and then I didn’t drink it really in the UK… I didn’t really think about it.”
When asked what triggered her decision to begin drinking coffee again, Meghan said: “I guess because life started to come back and when guests come… and you have meetings… It’s a ritual.”
While Megan has rediscovered her love for coffee, it was recently revealed that Prince Harry has found an American junk food that he loves.
In a recent interview with Variety, Meghan said her family frequently stop at the fast food chain In-N-Out so much that staff members at their local restaurant know their order.
She said: “My husband’s favourite is In-N-Out. There’s one at the halfway point between L.A. and our neck of the woods.
“It’s really fun to go through the drive-thru and surprise them. They know our order.”

Although she is not a big drinker, the royal also enjoys an occasional glass of wine and the Italian wine called Tignanello was the inspiration for her old lifestyle blog The Tig, which she closed down in 2017.
In an interview with Best Health she said: “Of course I’m going to have that glass of wine – it’s delicious and I enjoy it. Do the things you enjoy within reason. Know your body and what works for you and you’ll be fine.”
Meghan Markle has also described herself as a “foodie” on her old blog and would often share recipes and food reviews.
On the website, she described herself as: “Someone who not only loves but also appreciates the art and skill that goes into making good food.”
She once said her favourite meal of the day was lunch and said: “I’m always hoping I’m having lunch with people, so we can share fries. It’s its own food group for me.”
