MasterChef viewers slam the show for ‘editing out the old judges’ from the hit series during Foodies Vs Favourites premiere: ‘Like a slap in the face’

MasterChef Australia: Foodies Vs Favourites viewers have slammed the show for not including footage of the series’ old judges from season one to eleven. 

Twitter erupted with viewers taking aim at the show after Matt Preston, George Calombaris, and Gary Mehigan were not shown. 

Flashbacks of the old contestants were played through the episode – but the old judges were nowhere to be seen.

The trio were replaced by the current judges Jock Zonfrillo, Andy Allen, and Melissa Leong in 2019, in a controversial move. 

‘The edits not to show the old judges,’ one fan wrote, with it ‘loved’ on Twitter 15 times. 

Another fan hit out at the edit pretending the current judges were the ‘original’ judges on the show.

‘These flog judges pretend they were the original judges during these people’s journey! No Yaz were not!!!’ the viewer fumed.  

‘Don’t pretend to be! Look at Andy ”judge” who did he win under? Like a slap in the face to those before,’ they added.  

Another wrote: ‘Yeah, gone off it when the three left/sacked.’

Others questioned the lack of ‘diversity’ in the judges in recent years.

Past winners including Julie Goodwin, Sashi Cheliah, and Billie McKay returned for the new series.   

Original judges Matt, Gary and George quit the reality cooking series in 2019, after a reported pay dispute with Channel 10.

In a statement – which avoided mentioning George’s pay scandal – 10’s CEO Paul Anderson claimed the decision followed months of failed talks with the chefs.

Reports have claimed the trio chose to walk away from the program after 10 refused to give them a significant pay boost.
