Mandy Moore is opening up her private world to fans in a tender new music video.
Real Life is the first single from the album by the same name.
Instead of relying of slick studio scenes, the This is Us star used home videos of herself, husband Taylor Goldsmith and their adorable son, Gus, age one, doing everyday things around the house, such as brushing teeth, wearing a facial mask or cuddling with the precious tot.
Real life: Mandy Moore has released her first single, Real Life, from the album by the same name. The video includes scenes from Moore’s own life as well as that of her friends
The award-winning singer and actress also persuaded her friends, including Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma, to share some of their home movies.
The final cut shows the new mom sharing lots of sweet baby kisses with her son, and also includes tender touches of her friends with their children.
Mandy’s This is Us family got in on the action too. Chrissy Metz and Chris Sullivan are seen driving a golf cart at the studio, singing along to the new single.
Inspiration: The 37-year-old singer said she started writing the song when she was still pregnant with her son, Gus, but didn’t finish until after he was born. She and husband Taylor Goldsmith welcomed the boy into their family in February 2021

Everyday stuff: The persuasive actress convinced many of her friends, including Hilary Duff, to shoot their own home videos showing them doing everyday activities
Sterling K Brown and Justin Hartley put in some face time, while the actress’ on-screen husband, Jon Huertas shares scenes as he spends time with his horses and rides bikes along the beach.
Other celebrities include former boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, actress Amanda Kloots, Queer Eye star Karamo Brown and influencer Tess Holliday.
In an statement released with the new single, the 37-year-old singer said she was pregnant when she started writing the song, ‘but didn’t end up finishing it until after he arrived. In a way it speaks to every cliché about becoming a parent: All the lights get turned on, everything crystallizes in a way that you never could have imagined.’
Mom said: Moore convinced her on-screen adult children to help out with the video. Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz and Sterling K. Brown joined in the fun
‘Before Gus was born, my life was completely about me, and not necessarily even in a selfish sense — you just put one foot in front of the other and make your way through the world, and hopefully try to be the best version of yourself. But then this person enters the equation, and all that gets turned on its head.’
Real Life will be released May 13, and the working mom will be performing concerts to promote the album around the US throughout the summer.
The This is Us finale airs May 24.
It’s a wrap: Jon Huertas, who plays Moore’s on-screen husband, Miguel, in This is Us provided home videos for the singer’s touching new video. Shooting on the award winning series has wrapped. The season finale airs May 24
