Wild moment man runs away from Today show weather presenter Tim Davies because he thinks ‘he’s a reporter for A Current Affair’

There was a bizarre moment on the Today show on Wednesday when a man ran away from weather presenter Tim Davies to avoid being interviewed on camera.

Tim was giving away free fuel vouchers at a petrol station in Sydney when he tried to offer one to a driver waiting in the queue at the servo.

But the bearded man bolted out the door as soon as Tim approached him, leaving co-anchors Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon in stitches.

‘Excuse me, sir. Do you want $200 worth of free fuel?’ Tim asked the man, who brushed him off and made a swift exit.

‘I’m not from A Current Affair!’ Tim yelled, as Karl and Ally burst into laughter.

A Current Affair is known for chasing and confronting individuals in the street.

There is no suggestion the man had done anything wrong, however, and Tim was simply joking when he made the reference to ACA.

Before finding fame on the Today show, Tim worked in radio as the news presenter for The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

According to his Nine bio, Tim was employed by Austereo for about 12 months back in 2013, and even posted about his departure on Instagram in November that year.

Tim started his media career working as a Sydney traffic reporter at Nova 96.9.

Ironically, Tim got his start in television working for the Today show’s main rival, Channel Seven’s Sunrise, in 2009.

He also worked for Weekend Sunrise and The Morning Show, before leaving the network in 2013.

Tim then joined Channel Nine in 2014, working as a reporter for Nine News and presenter for Nine News Early Edition.

He was the occasional fill-in host for Today Extra and Weekend Today, before joining the Today show on a full-time basis last year.
