The biggest quake measured 4.0 on the Richter scale and was centred to the east of LA International Airport.
The quake was measured around a mile from the LA county of Lennox at 11.44am (4.44am BST)
It reached a depth of 19.9km, according to the United States Geological Survey.
Just 30 minutes earlier, a quake with the force of 2.5 was recorded in the same region.
Although it was less powerful, it reached greater depths and had a range of 25.9km.
