Kaalan Walker, an actor who appeared in the 2018 film "SuperFly," has been convicted on several counts of sexual assault.

Kaalan Walker, an actor who appeared in the 2018 film “SuperFly,” has been convicted on eight out of eleven counts of sexual assault.

On Monday, a jury found the actor guilty on three counts of forcible rape, one count of assault to commit oral copulation, two counts of statutory rape and two counts of rape by intoxication.

Walker was found not guilty on one count of digital penetration and two counts of forcible rape.

His attorney Andrew Flier said in a statement to USA TODAY on Tuesday that the actor “maintains his innocence” and “did not receive a fair trial as many important issues were excluded by the Court.”

Fier added that the three not guilty counts make him optimistic that the case will be overturned on appeal.

Walker is scheduled to return to court on May 27 for a trial on aggravating factors in the case.

According to NBC Los Angeles and Rolling Stone, the victims related to Walker’s convicted charges include women and minors. The outlets also report that Walker was accused of using the prospect of photo shoots and industry connections to prey on vulnerable women.
