Joe Biden condemned by Turkish president after ‘killer’ Putin remark – ‘Unacceptable’

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called out Joe Biden’s comments as “not fitting of a president.” During a TV interview on March 17, Mr Biden, 78, agreed with a statement suggesting the Russian president was a killer.

Mr Biden’s comment came after US intelligence agencies claimed Russia influenced the 2020 election.

“Mr Biden’s comment about Putin does not suit a head of state,” Mr Erdogan said on Friday.

He also added that the comments are “unacceptable”.

Mr Erdogan has not yet formally sat down with the US president since he took office in January.

In response to Mr Biden’s ‘killer’ accusations, Putin, 68, quipped: “It takes one to know one.”

He said: “You know I remember in my childhood, when we argued in the playground we used to say, ‘It takes one to know one’.

“And that’s not a coincidence, not just a children’s saying or joke. It has deep psychological meaning.

“We always see our own traits in other people and think they are like how we really are.
