The Good Nurse, directed by Tobias Lindholm, is slated to begin streaming on Netflix October 26.

The thriller is adapted from the book of the 2013 book of the same name, which tells the haunting true story of Cullen, who is confirmed to have killed at least 29 people but is suspected of killing possibly upwards of 400 people, and how Chastain’s character, a nurse named Amy Loughren, helped stop him.

The trailer opens with Amy waiting at a diner when the door opens and Charlie walks up to Amy’s table as he asks, ‘What’s going on?’

‘Just, you know, work’s been pretty awful without you there. You and I were partners,’ Amy asks, though Charlie says, ‘I don’t wanna talk about work.’

‘Is it because… what they’re saying is true?’ a visibly nervous Amy asks Charlie, who opens his eyes and looks at Amy.

Later at work her character notices a chart and says, ‘Oh my God, there’s insulin in her system’ as a  Code Blue alert goes off and she races down the hall.

The officers visit Amy at home, revealing that Cullen has been to nine different hospitals, as Amy adds, ‘No, the hospital would’ve done something.’

Amy meets with a fellow nurse, asking if she remembers working with Charlie and she says she does.

‘There was a rumor about him. They found insulin in a dead guy’s saline bag,’ which clearly alarms Amy.

She returns home one night to her girls, and is petrified to find Charlie there waiting for her, as one of the girls asks, ‘Why are you being weird, mom?’

The trailer shows a number of dramatic shots with the other officer saying Charlie will just get a new job at another hospital and it’s all gonna continue.

The trailer ends back where it began – in the diner – with a new wrinkle, revealing Amy is wired and the officers are listening in, as the trailer comes to an end.
