The COVID-19 surge in India slowed a bit on Saturday with the smallest daily increase in infections in nearly three weeks.
On Saturday, India reported 326,098 new confirmed cases and 3,890 deaths in the past 24 hours, although the numbers are believed to be an undercount, Reuters reported.
The overall rate of positive cases had dropped to 19.8 percent this week from 21.9 percent last week.
The virus was still spreading quickly in rural areas and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday warned people to take extra precautions.
Desperate to ward off the virus, some Indians have begun using fake cures such as lemon juice in their eyes and a paste of cow dung and urine on their bodies.
