Greece wildfires: Inferno continues to rage as firefighter loses life – residents flee

A volunteer firefighter, 38, was killed in Athens by a falling electricity pole.

Firefighters are struggling to put out 154 blazes that are raging across the country.

The worst fires are found in the northern parts of the capital, where residents are urged to flee their homes.

The island of Evia is also engulfed in flames as well as areas near the ancient Olympia – site of the first Olympic games.
