Farrah Abraham stood by her decision to allow her daughter, Sophia, to get her septum pierced for her 13th birthday.

The former Teen Mom star told TMZ that while she personally ‘wasn’t for it,’ her daughter wanted to have the piercing, so she made sure everything was done professionally and in accordance with local restrictions.

‘To those who might feel it is inappropriate that my daughter got her nose professionally done, legally done, I’m all about being legal,’ she explained.

‘We abided by the law. I am doing my best as a parent to make sure that she is healthy and happy, and I covered those bases. So congratulations to Sophia. I’m wishing her the best in her teen years, and if she wants to get more piercings, more power to her.’

Farrah noted that Sophia’s ‘generation’ is ‘much different’ than her own when she explained that her only child was the first in the family to get the nasal piercing.

‘I would rather it be by a professional, sanitized and clean, than my teen going, sneaking off and doing it herself and getting an infection,’ she said.

Sophia and Farrah, 30, shocked fans online when her piercing process was revealed last week as part of her big birthday surprise.

‘I got my septum piercing for my birthday!!’ the thrilled teenager captioned a video shared on social media.

She went on, writing, ‘I am so happy with how it turned out! I am the first person in my family to get a septum piercing at 13!! Birthday wish came true!!’

Sophia also showed off her punk-rock-inspired look, as she sported purple hair, a graphic T-shirt, and a silver-chain necklace with a small padlock.

Meanwhile her proud mom jumped into the comments to congratulate the birthday girl.

Doting mom: Farrah, 30, was quick to congratulate her teen and wrote,'SOPHIA THE FIRST. The first 13 year old in the family to get a septum piercing! Birthday wish come true!'

‘SOPHIA THE FIRST,’ she started her post, adding, ‘The first 13 year old in the family to get a septum piercing! Birthday wish come true! Happy memories ! Love you! Epic 13!’

But not all commentators were thrilled, with some pointing out that the teenager was too young to make such decisions.

‘A septum piercing at her age is too young,’ one person wrote, while another added, ‘Are you serious? A septum piercing for a 13-year-old, she’s still a baby.’

Farrah also took to her Instagram to share some photos from her daughter’s party, and revealed that she ‘went grunge’ for the occasion.

The mother-and-daughter duo were seen sitting side by side, with Farrah sporting black leather pants and boots, and Sophia wearing a unique purple top and pants.

In another post the doting mom shared a video where she added some cameo clips from Flyysoulja and Kodiyakredd – known for their Island Boy hit – as well as Coyote Peterson, made especially for her daughter.

Farrah welcomed Sophia in 2009, one month after the little girl’s father, Derek Underwood, passed away in a tragic car accident.

She was only 17-years-old and eight-months pregnant when she started filming 16 and Pregnant.

The star appeared on seven seasons of the hit reality show before being fired for her choice to return to the adult entertainment industry.

Farrah — who is currently studying to take the bar exam in order to become a lawyer — has weathered some legal issues recently.

She was arrested on Jan. 15 on suspicion of misdemeanor battery, after she refused to leave a Los Angeles club and allegedly slapped a security guard, and a court hearing on the issue is slated for May 19.
