Euphoria’s Martha Kelly trades in drugs for jokes as she joins Jean Smart’s award winning dramedy Hacks

Martha Kelly is going from dealing drugs in Euphoria to dishing out jokes Hacks.

The stand-up comic is joining season two of the Golden Globe winning series starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder about an aging comic and her millennial joke writer. 

The Corporate Animals star is just one member of the new cast, which now includes Laurie Metcalf and Ming-Na Wen as recurring characters.

Comedian Margaret Cho is set to appear as a guest star. 

Season two of the HBO dramady with follow Smart’s Deborah and Einbinder’s Ava as they try to work on a new routine while mending their relationship.  The season one finale saw Deborah walking away from her Las Vegas residency, while Ava committed an act of betrayal in a moment of anger. 

Production for the hit show already underway.

Sweep:  The 70-year-old actress is one of a handful of artists to sweet everyone award they were nominate for in a single season.  In addition to her latest win at the Critics Choice Awards, she's also earned an Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG and Television Critics Association awards for her portrayal of an aging Las Vegas comedian

Producers are keeping their cards close to their chests and haven’t yet disclosed what kinds of roles the new cast members will play.  

Joining the shows seems a lucky role of the dice, as proven by Smart’s awards season sweep. 

The former Designing Women star earned A Best Comedy Actress Critics Choice award Sunday for her portrayal of the brash comedian.

More funny stuff:  Hannah Einbinder will return to her role in Hacks as joke writer Ava.  Also joining the cast for season two are Laurie Metcalf, Ming-Na Wen and Margaret Cho. Producers haven't yet announced what parts they will play

The 70-year-old TV veteran also walked away with the Critics Choice prize for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series for her role as Kate Winslet’s mother in the gritty HBO drama  Mare of Easttown. 

The statuesque star has also earned Emmy, SAG, Golden Globe and Television Critics Awards for the role. 

She now joins an elite group of actors to earn similar accolades in a single season.
