Corissa McCalister, a high school teacher in Steubenville, Ohio, has been arrested and accused of sexually abusing a teenage boy student, The Sun reports.
The sexual abuse allegedly took place in the car of McCalister, 21, who is a Catholic school teacher.
The alleged victim is 15 years old.
The sex scandal over McCalister’s alleged grooming and abuse of the youngster has shocked teachers and students at Central Catholic High School.
Corissa McCalister, 21, of Steubenville, Ohio, who teaches Spanish at the Central Catholic High School was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of sexual battery, according to Harrison County prosecutor Lauren Knight.

Corissa McCalister has already been released from jail after the teacher was charged with two counts of sexual battery.
She posted a $100,000 bail.
The abuse that Corissa McCalister allegedly inflicted upon the child took place not on school grounds but in the teacher’s car.
WCYB reports that McCalister also coaches athletics at the school — at least she did until her arrest.
McCalister, also a cross country coach and assistant track coach, has been placed on administrative leave by the school, according to Principal Thomas Costello.

According to the mother of the boy whom the teacher allegedly sexually abused, Corissa McCalister committed the heinous act in Harrison County.
Sheriff Joe Meyers alleged that McCalister drove the boy to the Harrison County Fairgrounds on March 30. There, the teacher is believed to have sexually abused the child.
She was apparently driving the boy back from a track meet.
WTRF reports that according to a press release from the Catholic Diocese, the school’s principal and superintendent decided to put McCalister on leave after they learned of the accusations against her.
According to a press release from the Diocese, Principal Thomas Costello and Diocesan Superintendent Deacon Paul D. Ward made the decision after officials were informed about allegations of sexual abuse.

The Diocese reports that it has informed the parents of both high school and junior high school students about the allegations against Corissa McCalister — that she stands accused of a shocking act of sexual abuse.
The faculty members have also been notified.
Thus far, no other alleged victims have come forward.
In a similar case in New Jersey, 24-year-old Samantha Krakower, a Bergen County high school teacher and coach, was arrested last week and charged with sexually assaulting a teenage student, NJ.com reports.
Samantha Krakower, a 24-year-old physical education and health teacher at Leonia High School, was accused of having “an inappropriate sexual relationship” with a student, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.
