Angry Bryan Adams leaves Today Extra hosts David Campbell and Belinda Russell stunned as he explodes after being asked about his hit song Summer of ’69: ‘I don’t want to talk about that!’

Bryan Adams left Today Extra hosts David Campbell and Belinda Russell momentarily lost for words after he abruptly shut down their line of questioning during an interview on Thursday’s morning show.

The 62-year-old singer became irate when the conversation turned to his hit, Summer of ’69.

Belinda, 44, earnestly asked Bryan about the meaning behind the classic song, but he made it clear he didn’t want to discuss it.

‘I don’t want to talk about that, I want to talk about the new album. That’s why I’m here,’ he responded bluntly.

His terse response left Belinda momentarily unsure as to how to proceed with the interview, while David, 48, simply laughed in disbelief.

‘Wow, okay,’ David quietly said.

Bryan has happily spoken about the 1984 hit single in previous interviews, where he revealed the surprising meaning behind the song.

In an interview with Independent earlier this month, the Canadian singer revealed the song’s title was actually a joke.

‘I only ever wrote that title because it made me laugh,’ he confessed.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Louder in July 2020, Bryan cheekily revealed the song was named after a sexual position.

‘There is a huge misconception that this song is about 1969, but it’s not. The reason I chose 69 is because of the sexual position,’ he explained.

He added: ‘Originally the song had been called The Best Days of My Life… I just threw in the lyric “It was the summer of ’69” and it stuck.’

Bryan also spoke about how arduous it was to produce the song, revealing it had almost cost him his team.

‘The track was recorded three separate times. I wanted to capture a special energy on the track – and nearly lost my team doing it,’ he said.

‘I basically fought with everyone until it became the way it is today. It wasn’t easy getting it there.’
