Ben Foden’s wife Jackie Smith Foden has insisted that he would never cheat on her, despite his unfaithful behaviour to ex-wife Una Healy.

The 37-year-old spoke to The Sun, alongside her husband and father of her daughter Farrah, 22 months, and explained that she felt sure Ben wouldn’t cheat again because that was not the ‘dynamic’ of their relationship.

She staunchly denied Ben was a ‘slimy cheater’, despite what people’s apparent perceptions of him were.

She said: ‘People perceive Ben as some slimy, habitual cheater and it’s really not who he is. I don’t think Ben could possibly cheat on me.’

‘Everyone’s like, “He cheated on this beautiful, famous pop star — of course he could cheat on you”. But that’s just not the dynamic we have.’

She went on to describe the level of trust between the couple, saying: ‘We have our passwords saved in each other’s phones, we use each other’s laptops, we track each other on Find My Friends. I could go through his Instagram right now if I wanted to. We have a very honest and open relationship. We don’t lead separate lives. It’s frustrating that Ben’s cheating is brought up constantly.’

Jackie also dismissed concerns by saying that Ben and Una’s marriage was over before he cheated.

She said he was depressed at the time and looking for a way out of the marriage, and that he would never make the same mistake again with her.

She gushed that the couple were ‘very intimate’ and that they hoped to have a second child next year, but lamented the fact that people still compare her to Una.

Ben and Jackie tied the knot in 2020 – a year and a half after his marriage broke down with Una, 40, due to his cheating, and only two days after his divorce was finalised.

Ben, who shares two children Aoife, nine, and Tadgh, six, with Una, left the singer broken hearted when he was unfaithful, as he later admitted: ‘I was the one who committed adultery… It’s not ideal but we’re very amicable’.

Jackie previously discussed the potential for history to repeat itself, telling OK!: ‘From day one he’s never made me feel paranoid or insecure…

‘He’s not once worried me. I think you just know, deep down, when that could happen and it’s not a possibility with us, so I’m not concerned.’

She went as far as joking about the possibility, saying: ‘I look forward to the day when Ben actually cheats on me, because it would be hysterical to see the downpour of fire and rain that comes down upon him… I’m kidding.’

Gushing over her husband, with whom she shares daughter Farrah who they welcomed in 2020, she said: ‘I don’t care what anyone thinks of him. It makes me feel awful when people don’t know how awesome he is…

‘But all his friends, family and people in his life know who he is and love him. I have the best person ever. I feel bad that he feels bad but it doesn’t bother me.’

In 2019, Ben spoke about being unfaithful, telling The Guardian: ‘At the moment anything that’s published about me is never very good and pretty rightly so, because I was the one who committed adultery…

‘But at the same time, it wasn’t the only reason for our divorce to go through. It’s not ideal but we’re very amicable, we’re getting through it. We’re not the first people in the world to get divorced. We’ve got two little kids we adore.’

Speaking about his need to apologise to Una, Ben, spoke about the breakdown of their marriage and how they have come to be on better terms after ‘shocking her’ with his whirlwind second wedding just two weeks after meeting Jackie.

Ben accepted he ‘was very selfish’ to marry so quickly, saying: ‘Obviously, what I did was very selfish in regards to Una…

‘I think it was a shock to her, me getting married so quickly. Una and I hadn’t been together for a year and a half but I think what made it bad was it was such a big thing in the media and it was everywhere, so, I did owe her an apology for that…

‘I should probably have let her know a bit more about what was going on.’
