Anderson Cooper announces he tested positive for COVID-19 and both his sons are negative: ‘Hope to get back to work soon!’

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper announced on Monday that he had tested positive for COVID-19, but both his sons tested negative.

The 54-year-old native New Yorker – who boasts 14.1M social media followers – captioned his Instastory selfie: ‘Hope to get back to work soon.’

Anderson has two very young sons – Wyatt Morgan, turning 2 on April 27; and Sebastian Luke, 8 weeks – whom he co-parents with his ‘best friend and former partner’ Benjamin Maisani.

Cooper and the 49-year-old Frenchman – who reportedly owns four New York night clubs – ended their nine-year romance in 2018.

‘Wyatt calls me “Daddy” and Benjamin “Papa,”‘ the eight-time Emmy winner explained on CNN on February 10.

‘We’re a family. Benjamin is also in the process of adopting Wyatt, whose last name will be changed to Maisani-Cooper as well.’

Luckily, Anderson can get plenty of quarantine advice from his best friend Andy Cohen, who came down with the coronavirus twice (in December 2021 and March 2020) despite being vaccinated.

Cooper appeared to be in great health while appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last Wednesday where he discussed parenting and his recent trip to Ukraine.

‘What’s so sweet is every day there’s a little bit more advancement for Wyatt,’ the Peabody-winning journalist said of his big brother duties.

‘So he’ll come and hold Sebastian’s hand while I’m feeding him.’

Anderson laughed: ‘I’ve started doing this thing with Wyatt where we both sort of make fun of Sebastian. Not in a bad way! When Sebastian is crying, Wyatt will look at me and I’ll look at him and go, “Waaa! I’m a baby! I’m crying!” And he really likes it! So now he does it too.’

As an April Fool’s joke, the 53-year-old Bravo executive posed little Wyatt and his three-year-old son Benjamin Allen on the set of his boozy talk show, Watch What Happens Live.

‘What I love about this photo is it is so exactly like mini-me versions of Andy and I,’ Cooper marveled.

‘If you look, Ben is just smiling like he’s the host just like Andy – always happy and stirring s***. And whenever I’m a guest on Andy’s show, I’m staring at him with some confusion. “Why did I agree to be here? What am I doing here?”‘

The 60 Minutes correspondent then cracked a joke about the tykes behaving the way they do during New Year’s Eve specials: ‘And they got really drunk together.’
