The miniseries will see the shamed Eton alum attempt to prove his innocence following an accusation of sexually assaulting a young political aide.

Based on the bestselling novel by Sarah Vaughan, the five-part masterpiece will see the high-flying couple’s life – along with their two children – turned upside down.

The role of the aide, called Olivia Lytton, will be played by Charlie Angels actress Naomi Scott, in the project which was produced by Big Little Lies’ David E. Kelley.

Sophie is convinced that James is innocent and will do whatever it takes to protect her family in the wake of the scandal.

Meanwhile, QC Kate is equally convinced that he is guilty and is determined to see he pays for his crimes.

It’s thought the series could focus on a different political scandal each season in an anthology style, similar to BBC’s A Very English Scandal according to Deadline.

Michelle was most recently seen in the AppleTV+ series Defending Jacob alongside Chris Evans, where she played a mother dealing with an accusation that her 14-year-old son is a murderer.

Sienna starred in drama film Wander Darkly this year while she also appeared as Roger Ailes’ wife Beth in the miniseries The Loudest Voice released last year.

Rupert was last seen in the CBS All Access series Strange Angel, which was axed in November 2019, and also starred in Showtime’s Homeland until 2018.
