Aldi Australia is set to release an affordable $49.99 smartwatch as part of the retailer’s Special Buys catalogue on Wednesday, May 4, ahead of Mother’s Day.

The device can track your steps, activity, heart rate, sleep and blood pressure in real time similar to gadgets that will often set you back hundreds of dollars.

Shoppers can also check the weather forecast, receive message and call notifications from their smartphones via Bluetooth, and control their music.

The watch includes many of the features one would expect with regular trackers, including multi-sports tracking, and a wireless connection.

Aldi’s smart watch is also water-resistant and designed to endure through strenuous physical exercise.

Available in assorted colours such as peach, blue, brown, and black, the smartwatch with colour display and touchscreen controls also comes with a magnetic charging base.

The gadget is part of the new collection from the chain’s massive two-day sale.
